Certifications & Approvals
To guarantee we provide you with expert advice and the highest quality of service, BE ATEX staff are committed to obtaining and maintaining a range of approvals and certifications.
Working to the highest standards is a matter of priority for us. As specialists in solutions for gas risk management, we have a duty to ensure your safety.
Our philosophy is simple: Your safety is our number one priority!
The BE ATEX stamp
Because the purpose of your equipment is to protect you, BE ATEX checks and certifies every piece of equipment shown with this stamp on our website and in our technical guide. Whenever you see this stamp, you can rest assured that:
- Equipment has been recalibrated
- PPE has been tested and checked
- All equipment has been configured (alarm setpoints, calibration and recording frequency, start message, etc.)
So you can be safe in the knowledge that your equipment is ready for use as soon as it is delivered to your door!
MASE Certification
BE ATEX is MASE certified since June 2022. The objective of this certification is to promote the implementation in companies of an adapted and efficient Health and Safety at Work management system and to encourage a common language between user companies and intervening companies.
The MASE is a reference system. It is a basis for reflection that allows the company to better structure its HSE approach by exploring 5 axes:
- Commitment of the company's management
- Professional skills and qualifications
- Work organization
- Efficiency of the management system
- Continuous improvement
CATEC certification (workers & external supervisors)
The CATEC (Certificat d’Aptitude à Travailler en Espaces Confinés) certificate is awarded to people who have completed a training course in the risks related to work performed in confined spaces. It consists of a set of skills and qualification of the skills acquired during the training course.
This certification provides our operators with enhanced skills in how to perform tasks in confined spaces (for example, installing fixed equipment in a wastewater network).
Electrical permit (grades H0V // B2 BR BC)
An electrical permit recognises a person’s ability to safely perform an electrical or non-electrical task on or near to an electrical installation. It authorises our staff to get access to premises or a location usually reserved for electricians.
Grade: H0V
H: High voltage installation
0: Non-electrical work
V: Work in the proximity of exposed live parts.
Grade B2 BR BC
B: Low voltage installation
2: Electrical work
R: Other types of work
C: Lock out / Tag out procedures
Level 1 Radioprotection permit (RP1)
This permit authorises us to work on nuclear sites since it provides our staff with the means of acquiring and putting into practice the appropriate radioprotection principles. Our staff apply the provisions laid down in the regulations. They are able to identify and understand the risk, assess the consequences and control it effectively.
ISM ATEX certification
ISM ATEX, or Installation, Service and Maintenance of ATEX electrical installations, authorises our staff to work on the design, production and/or maintenance of electrical installations in explosive atmospheres.
This certification is based on 3 certificates of conformity:
- Design of electrical installations in an ATEX environment
- Production of electrical installations in an ATEX environment
- Maintenance of electrical installations in an ATEX environment
Habilitation chimique N1
CACES
The aim of the CACES system is to reduce the number and seriousness of accidents on building sites. It is a certificate of aptitude for safe driving, which is intended for employees who are required to operate construction machinery and lifting equipment, such as self-propelled forklift trucks or cranes.
It is a good way for the employer to comply with the obligations regarding the control of the driver's knowledge and know-how for safe driving.
IATA certification
IATA (International Air Transport Association) certification for the shipment, packing and transportation of goods by air (excluding radioactive goods).
The IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) lay down compulsory training obligations for carriers, including packers, agents and agencies that handle declarations on behalf of operators and perform handling, loading and unloading, transfers and all other operations involving the goods.
Our staff undergo training every two years and are listed on the IATA international register of trained workers. This certification allows us to:
- Identify the risks generated by the dangerous goods and be capable of applying the obligations
- Be capable of applying the obligations arising from the regulations concerning transportation of dangerous goods by air according to the International Air Transport Association (IATA) code
- Identify the missions and responsibilities of the various stakeholders involved in the transportation of dangerous goods (consignor, shipper, carrier, consignee, safety consultant).
In addition to IATA certification, our staff have also completed IMDG and ADR training.
IMDG Certification
IMDG stands for International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code. It is the code issued by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), and lays down the following:
- Classification of dangerous goods
- Regulations concerning the transportation of the goods in question
- Packaging, labelling
- Rules applicable in maritime ports and local ports
As a result, our staff are aware of the IMDG code for classifying, packing, labelling, reporting and shipping dangerous goods by water on vessels, and understand the policies in force in ports.
ADR certification
The Accord for Dangerous Goods by Road is the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road.
Our staff are aware of the risks involved in transporting dangerous goods and apply the regulations applicable to carriage by road.

We are also an approved maintenance centre endorsed by manufacturers, because our role doesn’t end when you purchase our equipment. We support you throughout the service lifetime of the equipment you acquire. The purpose of your equipment is to protect you: it needs to be checked, calibrated and repaired if necessary to ensure it is in proper working order every day.
Through these approvals, we have acquired the expertise and spare parts required to guarantee your protection.
