Pentane : Description and use

Description

Pentane is a linear alkane. It is a solvent which is often used in organic chemistry and in some refrigerating circuits (freezers at −80°C, for example, as an additive to the liquid refrigerant).
It is a colourless liquid with a characteristic odour.

  • Additive for petrol
  • Solvent for organic products
