Grégory TASCA, Founder of BE ATEX
BE ATEX is a specialist provider of solutions for gas risk management, meaning we can supply you with the best configuration to suit your needs and constraints, from the right gas detector and the right respiratory protection to the right fall protection equipment!
Although gas detectors are not considered PPE, they still help keep you safe. They measure the concentration of a given gas and are indispensable if you are to raise the alarm when faced with any one of a range of dangerous gases (flammable, toxic, anoxic, etc.). There is so much choice available to cater for each situation, from fixed gas detectors to protect facilities to wearable single-gas or multi-gas detectors to protect the user; from area monitors for worksites to colorimetric gas detectors (SPM flex or colorimetric tubes).
Closely connected to gas detection are two essential types of Class 3 PPE that protect the user from risk of death:
- Respiratory protection, which can be divided into two major families: filtering respirators and self-contained breathing apparatus.
- Fall protection equipment, which is crucial when working at height or in confined spaces.
Gas detection should be left to the specialists: it’s your safety at stake!
BE ATEX was founded in Montauban, south-west France, in Grégory’s dad’s garage. It was to be a Bureau d’Étude en ATmosphère EXplosive – an explosive atmosphere design office – hence the name BE ATEX.
